Rediscovering the Lost Tribes of Israel
Copyright 2009 Michael Frederick
One of the great mysteries of history is the disappearance of the tribes of Israel that were living in the area of Samaria (northern kingdom of Israel) prior to the invasion and conquest of Assyria. Where did the lost tribes of Israel go? Were they swept away by the invading armies of Assyria and dispersed. Were they slaughtered? Does the Bible offer any clues?
In 2004 B.C. HaShem renamed Jacob Israel (Genesis 32:28). Israel, Jacob, the Bride or the Woman are synonyms in the Bible (usually specific to the tribes that were lost, but not necessarily in exclusion of those called Judah or Jews). When we say Israel, we generally mean the children of Abraham, more precisely the children of Jacob or of the promise. That includes the tribes of Judah and Benjamin; that includes the Jews.
The “outcasts of Israel” have not yet returned (Ezekiel 37:21), but we have seen part of Isaiah 11-12 fulfilled when the Jews returned to take part in the rebirth of the fig tree (Israel) as a nation in 1948 (Hosea 9:1). The nation of Israel is HaShem’s fig tree (Joel 1:7). The last generation, the generation that will live to see the End Times, is the one that witnessed the fig tree put forth its tender shoots (Matthew 24:32-36). Because the time of fulfillment was determined by collective free will; no one could predict when (except HaShem); but we are given all the other details; what and how. And the wise will understand (Daniel 12:10).
Another indication of the End Times is the rebirth of Israel or the dry bones of the decimated nation being restored to life! The dry bones of Israel came to life (in 1948) by the grace of HaShem and by the power of His Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 37:11-14)! Praise the Lord of Hosts! Praise Yeshua!
The “outcasts of Israel” have not yet returned. But when they are brought back they will be joined with Judah so that Israel and Judah will no longer be two, but one in the Lord (Ezekiel 37: 15-28). The prophesies we are searching for should refer more to these “outcasts of Israel”, tribes that were given the “wings of the eagle” by HaShem and “hidden away in the wilderness” for 1260 days away from the reach of the great red dragon (Satan) and from the armies of the nations he sent (like a river or a flood) to persecute the Woman (Revelation 12:13-15).
Numbers chapter 2 instructed the 12 tribes to assemble under the ensign (banner, or coat of arms) of their particular tribe. We can find them; because even the disobedient and backsliding lost tribes (who forsook the Saturday Sabbath and thereby became lost to history) have obeyed the command to gather under their ensign; even Israel preserved her coat of arms, ensigns, and flags and continues to gather under them. Zechariah 9:16 says HaShem will save them like a flock of His people; they are as the stones of a crown lifted up as an ensign (banner, crest, coat of arms). He (Christ Yeshua, Jesus) is the good shepherd that will guide them into the peace of green pastures and into Sabbath rest (Deuteronomy 5:14; Hebrews 4:9).
Judah has a young (rampant) lion as her coat of arms, crest, flag or ensign (Hosea 5:14). Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Britain all gather around a young or rampant lion. Christ Yeshua will reclaim David’s throne (Genesis 49:10) when He returns in glory (Revelation 5:5).
King David’s ensign or crest should include the harp (1Samuel 16:23; Psalm 92:3).In fact, the harp is one of Ireland’s most prominent national symbols. As the lost tribes migrated to Scotland, we notice both the symbol of the rampant lion and the harp in the ensigns of that nation.
The crown (throne) follows Joseph and his sons, the one who was separated from his brothers (the Jews) (Genesis 49:26).The sons of Joseph would become a great nation (Manasseh is United States of America) and a family of nations (Ephraim is Great Britain or the United Kingdom) (Genesis 48:19-20).
Ephraim is symbolized by the wild ox (unicorn) and we find that animal also included in the national crests of Scotland and Wales. In fact, we find the rampant or young lion of the tribe of Judah, the harp of King David’s throne, and the unicorn of Ephraim in Scotland’s ensign. When the tribes migrated towards England we see the rampant lion combined with the wings of an eagle (Daniel 7:3-4) in the ensigns or crests of members of the royal family.
Approximately 20 years before the Assyrian invasion wiped out the northern Kingdom of Israel, HaShem (G_d) hid Israel away in the wilderness of Ireland. As time went on, HaShem again hid the Woman (Israel) in Wales or Britain; finally HaShem hid the Woman away from the armies of the nations (poured out like a flood by Satan to destroy the Woman) in a new country called America. HaShem gave the Woman the wings of an eagle (U.S.)
Each event or hiding away into the wilderness occurred for 1260 days (of one year each Revelation 12:14).

Each of these events occurs after a time, times, and one half a time or 1260 days (of one year each). Joseph is a fruitful vine running over a deep well (Genesis 49:22). Joseph crossed the Mediterranean (a deep spring or well) and reached Ireland. Joseph crossed a deep spring and migrated from Scotland to England. Joseph crossed a deep well (the Atlantic Ocean) and replanted himself in America. The eagle along with the crown or throne of David (in England) and the bows and arrows of Joseph are included in the great ensign (or seal) of the United States of America. (Genesis 49:22-26).
Even if we didn’t have coats of arms, ensigns, and banners marking the trail the lost tribes took, putting up a signpost, we could probably answer the question by asking which Christian nations received the blessings described below in Genesis 49. The crown is mentioned in regard to Joseph (the one who was separated from his brothers or lost) and the scepter is with Judah; so these two tribes would travel together.
Gen 49:22 “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine by a spring. His branches run over the wall.
The tribes of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) along with Judah and the tribes associated with Judah were lost to history at the same time. Joseph did vine out, crossing the deep spring or well of the Mediterranean to arrive in Ireland. It happened again when Joseph spread his vine and crossed the ocean to England; it happened a third time when Joseph ran over the wall of Europe and crossed the deep well of the Atlantic to colonize America.
Gen 49:23 The archers have severely grieved him, shot at him, and persecute him:
Gen 49:24 But his bow remained strong. The arms of his hands were made strong, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),
Gen 49:25 even by the God of your father, who will help you; by the Almighty, who will bless you,
with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.
Gen 49:26 The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of your ancestors, above the boundaries of the ancient hills. They will be on the head of Joseph, on the crown of the head of him who is separated from his brothers.
And the blessings of Judah were combined with the blessings of Joseph when the two tribes became lost and traveled together.
Gen 49:8 “Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies.
Your father’s sons will bow down before you.
Gen 49:9 Judah is a lion’s cub. From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion, as a lioness. Who will rouse him up?
Where is Judah’s throne today? We know it must exist because of the promise of Genesis 49:10. We will find the throne of Judah does exist, and it is in England.
Gen 49:10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.
Gen 49:11 Binding his foal to the vine, his donkey’s colt to the choice vine; he has washed his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.
Gen 49:12 His eyes will be red with wine, his teeth white with milk.
Did you ever wonder what that coat of many colors that Jacob made for Joseph was all about? What did it look like; what did it represent? Joseph had a coat of many colors or many coats of arms.
